Why Community Services?

Our church seeks to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving those in need in our community.

We aim to love our neighbors as ourselves. This includes volunteer activities that we perform for the community on a regular basis, such as hospitality meals, visits to community nursing home, homeless shelter and weekly food distribution. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to God, and there is an opportunity for each person to contribute here at our church.

Community Services is the humanitarian agency of the church. This department aims to build collaborative partnerships with the community and church members and equip leaders to serve and transform our communities.

Take note, that all activities are suspended indefinitely because of COVID 19 restrictions.

In the interim the Community Service Department prepares a recorded service monthly for the residents of The Four Season Nursing Home.

Every second Saturday, the Community Service Department worships with the residents at the Four Season Nursing Home in Canarsie, Brooklyn.

In addition, the department provides and serves a sumptuous Thanksgiving Dinner to the residents at the Star Bright Family Residence. Building relationship with the residents opened the opportunity for Pastor Corben Crew and Elder Delroy Dally to initially conduct Bible study with them, which is now continued by Elder Henry Taylor and Sister Carolyn Hebert. Some of them have been attending worship services with the saints at Beulah and so far two have been baptized.
